It is famous as the moment in “Kanjinchou”(Kabuki). Yoshitsune and his followers were fleeing the tracker of Minamoto Yoritomo.They were Questioned by gatekeeper Togashi. Benkei who is Yoshitsune’s right arm disguised themselves as traveling priests. And, he acted to hit the master Yoshitsune to get through the gate. Although Togashi ignored their act, he admired the spirit of loyalty and let them get away. Now, there are Yoshitsune and Benkei, Togashi statues in the direction of the Sea of Japan.
